In 1973 two friends, Bill Miller and Chip Miller (no relation) devised a plan to start an automotive event that served the interests of “car people like us.” Less than a year later in September of 1974, on a rented Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, their vision and a company called the "Fleamarketeers" came to life with an event known as Post War ’74. 50 years later, Post War ’74 (now Fall Carlisle) and the Fleamarketeers (now Carlisle Events) are thriving and stronger than ever.  

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of Carlisle Events in 2024! The celebration spans the entirety of the 2024 Carlisle Events car show season. When you come to our shows this year, you’ll notice commemorative signage, merchandise, photos, and more! Each show will have a unique ode to the 50th Anniversary, so be sure you check out the event guide per show! Debuting in 2024 is the ALL- NEW Carlisle Events Historical Timeline Wall located in Building T that will be completed by Spring Carlisle.

Gate-N-Go has ended but you can still benefit from pre-registering early! Pre-registration remains available up until show week. When you pre-register, you cruise up to the Showfield Registration office, bypass one line, pick up your packet and return to your car. In honor of the Old Skool Paint 2.0 Display, we teamed up with arguably the best “Old Skool” painter to create one psychedelic ’68 Barracuda. This is the latest ’68 Hemi Super Stock Barracuda of Bucky Hess. The graphics on the real car were all done by Travis “Tuki” Hess and the paint by Bucky’s LTD. Auto Body. This is by far the wildest die-cast we’ve ever done…for any of our events!

The graphics from the car were faithfully carried over to the packaging making this one perfect to display in the case or you can open it up and show off just the car. Not only is this a super cool and unique design for the car, but it’s also part of out 50^th anniversary celebration, making it even more special. Quantities are limited to just 1,000 pieces at $20 per item and must be purchased in the Carlisle Store in Building T at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. Sales are limited to six (6) die-cast per person.

If you’ve ever wanted to try your Mopar on an autocross course, not only is this your chance, you can try it for FREE! Helmets are REQUIRED (details below) and your car must pass tech, but other than that, if your ride is registered for the Chrysler Nationals Showfield, you can run it on the track. These runs are just for time and fun. If you want to compete, then sign up for the Real Street Autocross Shootout.

But if you just want to have some fun with your car, head to the on-site autocross track located on the north side of the property next to the Turnpike to sign up. Participants must have a registered car on the Chrysler Nationals Showfield, be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license and insurance. Participants are REQUIRED to bring their own helmets for safety. You will be unable to participate if you don’t have one.

Helmets are REQUIRED. Helmets must be SNELL Foundation certified, either “SA” (Special Application),“SAH” (Special Application Helmets Configured for use with frontal head restraints), “M” (motorcycle), or “EA” (Elite Automotive Sports). A SNELL foundation rating of “K” (karting) is NOT allowed. A DOT approval is not sufficient without the SNELL certification. A helmet from the second previous testing cycle is also allowed if it is SNELL certified and has a manufacture date less than ten (10) years old. e.g., in the year 2014, SNELL ratings of SA2005 or M2005 and SA2010 or M2010 will be legal. In addition, a SA2000 or M2000 helmet would be legal until they exceed 10 years of age. 

*Due to safety concerns, stock height SUVS and trucks may be excluded from autocross.

This is your chance to make some noise and see if you have the best SOUNDING exhaust at the show. We’re NOT looking for the loudest exhaust – we want to hear the one that sounds the best! We don’t care if it has 4, 6, 8 or 10 cylinders, but it better have a good exhaust note. It’s a rolling exhaust contest so rather than flat revving your engine in neutral, you’ll be moving and going up a slight grade, so you’ll have a bit of a load on the engine.

This is a multi-round contest consisting of two qualifying rounds (one on Friday and one on Saturday) and the finale is Saturday evening. If you drove the PA Turnpike to the show from the west, you know you got on it through the tunnels, so why not do it where like-minded enthusiasts will appreciate your efforts? It’s totally FREE to participate and all you have to do is sign up, but you must be registered for the Showfield.

You can sign up in Guest Services starting at 7 AM on Friday. This is a first come, first served activity and we typically fill up so sign up early!

It’s been a few years but our good buddy, Fletch, is returning to Carlisle! He’ll be here all weekend to see the show, film for his TV show, Classic Restos, as well as hang out with his fellow Mopar fanatics. Yes, Fletch is more than just a TV host, he’s a true Mopar guy! You’ll find him all over the event for the entire weekend.

Fletch will roam the show all weekend looking for individual vehicles to feature as well as covering the overall event. This could be your chance to be on TV across the globe as Classic Restos airs in several countries, not just the US and Australia. You and your Mopar could be international TV stars!

Not only has it been 50 years since Direct Connection was launched, but it’s been 40 years since Claudia was Ms. Direct Connection. Her poster was hung in many garages across the country and for the last two years, we handed out autographed replicas of that iconic poster. To celebrate these milestones, we did a photoshoot at last year’s show with Claudia.

Yes, the photo accompanying this text was taken last year and Claudia proudly admits that she has six children and she has almost 10 years on the cars in the photo. As cool as this photo is, the poster she will be signing this year is a photo of her doing a split across the two Superbird wings! If you want a FREE poster, you’ll have to find Claudia at one of her scheduled autograph sessions.

Dave Rea was featured on five seasons of a popular Mopar restoration show on MotorTrend TV and you can meet him at the show this year. Dave has a couple of autograph sessions scheduled in the Autograph Tent and he’ll be part of the panel in the Restorers’ Roundtable seminar on Friday. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet one of the nicest and most knowledgeable Mopar guys around!

Since his time on MotorTrend TV, Dave has opened his own shop called DB Restorations, LLC. It’s a Mopar only restoration shop in Cottage Grove, Oregon that specializes in 1968 to 1972 cars and trucks. Dave is a self-taught automotive restoration technician with 30 plus years of experience. Dave is strong in his faith and a true family man. When we tell you that Dave is a die-hard Mopar nut like the rest of us, we mean it. Find out for yourself!

Courtesy of our friends at the McCandless Collection, Buddy Martin will appear at the show on Friday and Saturday. Buddy will spend most of his time in the McCandless Collection booth on the Midway (space IG 109-126). Buddy and Herb McCandless will be there most of the weekend to meet fans, sign autographs and more. In more good news regarding Sox & Martin, the trademark has been acquired. Look for Sox & Martin merchandise in the McCandless Collection display.

The McCandless Collection will be debuting their latest restoration at the show and they will have a variety of race cars and street cars on display. Lastly, if you haven’t heard yet, the Hemi Shootout will continue at the NHRA US Nationals thanks to Sox & Martin and the McCandless Collection as they will be the new sponsors of the event. You’ll be able to find out more about this by talking directly to the new sponsors at Carlisle.

Herb McCandless has been coming to Carlisle for decades, and not necessarily as a celebrity. Herb comes as an enthusiast as much as anyone. He shares his cars, his stories and his knowledge at the show just like the rest of us. Well, Herb probably has a lot more knowledge to share than most of us. But, he can always be counted on to help out a fellow enthusiast.

You’ll find Herb most of the weekend in the McCandless Collection tent on the Midway (space IG 109-126). He will be there along with Buddy Martin and several cars from the McCandless Collection. The cars will range from race cars to street cars and from the ‘70s back to the ‘50s. Herb has a penchant for Forward Look cars and he likes to put modern Hemis in them. Herb is very well-rounded when it comes to Mopar knowledge, from the ‘50s to modern muscle.

Paul is one of the few racers who had a successful career in more than one form of motorsports. Let’s face it, drag racing and road racing are about as opposite as racing gets. Sure, there have been a lot of racers who have competed in various series but they usually all involve going fast and turning. Paul spent the first part of his career going fast in a straight line then switched to road racing, which is an entirely different discipline.

Beyond his time in the seat, Paul also did a lot for racing and the automotive industry behind the scenes. Paul’s accomplishments are way too long to cover here. If you want to learn everything about Paul before you meet him at Carlisle, Chrysler Power magazine did an in-depth article on Paul across several issues a few years back. That series is strongly recommended if you want to learn all about Paul. Either way, you can meet Paul at Carlisle and see his latest version of his famous Direct Connection 1970 Challenger. Paul will be located right next to the main stage.

Watching Nick’s YouTube channel is kind of like the digital equivalent of hanging out in his garage on a Saturday night. Instead of two or three guys learning from a really smart guy, more than 250,000 people are following Nick’s Garage, making him able to share his knowledge with a lot more people. But, we still feel that nothing beats meeting someone in person and you can meet Nick at the show this year.

Nick will have a display of six cars plus an engine. You can talk directly to Nick and ask him your questions. Nick’s channel covers mostly mechanical issues but he also talks about production numbers, factory options, etc. Whatever your Mopar interests are, Nick is a very knowledgeable guy and definitely worth meeting at the show. You can find Nick and his cars in a tent just off the east side of the main stage.

We really didn’t plan to do another Old Skool Paint display this soon, but some really cool cars have surfaced that we just can’t hold back any longer! And, yes, we originally planned to fill Building T with nothing but High Impact Paint cars, but we actually think adding the Old Skool Paint to the HIP display is going to make for the most retina-burning display ever.

The legendary A12 B-Bodies are turning 55 in 2024 and you won’t want to miss it! We’ll have an indoor display as well as a huge gathering on the Showfield and probably a large tent to accommodate all this coolness at Carlisle. All A12 Road Runners and Super Bees are eligible to register for the Showfield.

Additionally, we’ll be looking for some prime examples of factory A12 cars for the indoor and tent displays!

Hmm, “Coolness @ Carlisle” has a ring to it!!

Mopar’s High Impact Paint (HIP) colors can push almost any car off the charts when it comes to coolness and desirability. We’ve celebrated FM3 (Panther Pink/Moulin Rouge) in the past and now it’s time to honor the full palette of HIP colors! Our goal is to load Building T with factory High Impact cars (and trucks).

Join us as we partner with The Viper Pit to celebrate 20 years of the V-10 powered beasts with a bed! Yeah, Dodge stuffed a V-10 in the earlier Ram trucks but those were intended to do truck things. From 2004 to 2006, Dodge put an actual Viper engine in the half-ton Ram. The regular cabs got a 6-speed Tremec and quad cabs got a 4-speed automatic – all were two-wheel-drive.

As part of this celebration, we’re going to have a special display tent on the Showfield in the Viper and SRT10 truck area. We’re calling all SRT10 Rams to register for the Showfield and join us for the party.

The entire Mopar world was shocked and saddened by the passing of Mopar Survivors founder Mel Major. His sons Gregg and Ken have committed to continuing the legacy created by their father more than 20 years ago. Having Mel’s sons fill their father’s shoes is the best possible scenario for this iconic display.

If you have a Mopar that’s at least 25 years old and retains a minimum of 85% of its original, assembly line parts (including paint), then we encourage you to submit it for this world-class display. Carlisle Events and the Major family are committed to carrying on the Mopar Survivors Display to the same level as Mel. If you’re coming to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals to look at the classic and collector cars on the Showfield, don’t forget, not far from those rides are an amazing mix of automotive flea market (a.k.a. swap meet) and midway vendors.  

Mix in the Women’s Oasis, offering some non-automotive items for the ladies and a food court laced with some of the tastiest fare available and you get one of the largest vending footprints of its type anywhere.

Part of what makes Chrysler Nationals what it is, are the clubs that attend! If your club is not yet deemed an Officially Recognized Club, the first step is to apply. Officially Recognized Clubs have the ability to rent a club tent as a place to hang out and socialize throughout the show!

If your club gets a club tent, you also have the chance to compete in our Hemmings Club Challenge & Coolest Club Contest! The Hemmings Club Challenge Award is presented to the five largest official clubs, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Coolest Club Contest is based on if we feel like your club tent is the place we'd want to hangout in. Whether that be the atmosphere, decorations, or anything else that makes the club stand out!

We believe that one of the most honorable awards you can get at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is a Celebrity Choice Award. But do you really know what a Celebrity Choice award means? The deemed "celebrities" are notable people in our hobby, such as special guest, engineers who were the visionaries on the cars you love, to club leaders who make it their mission to bring people to the event each year. Getting a Celebrity Choice award is a true honor because that celebrity is picking one car out of the whole Showfield that means something to them. It's not the traditional judging, as there is no point scoring, but a personal reason behind why someone likes your car. 

Celebrity Choice selections takes place on Saturday of the show. Celebrities will walk the grounds to find that one car that gets their pick. You will know you are a winner right away, because there will be a special sticker on your car, as well as a document that notifies you that you won. Your autographed award will be available for pickup on Sunday!

Register for the Showfield

The show may officially begin on Friday but the fun starts on Thursday with the Kick-Off to Carlisle party hosted by Mopar Rebellion. It is held at the Carlisle Expo Center and starts at 4 PM  The expo center is a block west of the fairgrounds and is easily accessible by foot. If driving to the kick-off, you can input 100 K St., Carlisle, PA 17013 into your GPS.

The Kick-Off features inexpensive food, music, great Mopars and more. It is free for participants and spectators! There’s no judging – just fun with well over 400 cars. Be sure to arrive early before all of the spots are gone.

On Saturday of Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, visit the track to get your fix for tire burning excitement during the Rolling Burnout and Donut Contest!

This contest will feature multiple ways to get your burnout going. Participants can chose from the following:

1. Do a rolling burnout down the track!
2. Do a donut on the fresh donut pad!
3. Do a wicked rolling burnout into a donut onto the pad! 

The contest is limited to 10 contestants and sign-ups will begin Friday at Guest Services. You must be a registered participant at the show and provide your driver’s license & insurance card when signing up.

This year, be sure to participate in the Autocross Real Street Shootout, taking place Friday of event weekend. It will begin with check-in followed by a driver's meeting and tech inspection. 

If you think you and your car have what it takes to compete in the shootout, signup for the contest at Guest Services starting on Friday. This activity is a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to sign-up when you get here! The top three finishers will receive a trophy and will each get a cash payout! If you want to have some fun on the track, this is your chance…and it’s FREE!!

Best of all, this knowledge is totally free to all attendees. Topics typically include restoration techniques, care and maintenance, engine building and most recently, how to choose the right oil for your Mopar. We’re honored that the Golden Commandos have chosen to make the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals an annual stop on their schedule. These guys put the Plymouth brand in the winner’s circle many times over the years. They love meeting their fans and talking about the glory days of racing. They will be available to sign autographs and meet with fans all weekend. Commandos who regularly attend include Evan Ericson, Jim Hall, Ray Kobe and Warren Anderson. These legends are 2013 Mopar Hall of Fame inductees. See them at Carlisle and enjoy this very unique experience.

It seems as though the RAMCHARGERS enjoy being at Carlisle as much as we enjoy having them at the show and for that reason we call them our “friends” rather than special guests. Even though they have become regulars at the Chrysler Nationals we can’t forget what this group has done for our hobby. They were pioneers on the track and in the office. They truly are legends in the Mopar world and we are honored to have them at the show each year. When you bring your kids to this year's Chrysler Nationals, there will be different things they can participate in at the show! Check them out below: 

Kid's Goody Bag- Available for pickup at Guest Services for kids 12 and under! Parents will receive a goody bag coupon for each kid when they pick up their Showfield Goody Bag or when coming in with a spectator admission ticket. Some goodies within the bag are a coloring book, free cup with a coupon for a free drink at the food court and more! Limit one per child, child must be present.

RC Car Giveaway & Kids Cash Grab- Kids 12 and under can sign-up to potentially win an RC Car! When signing up for the giveaway, they are also eligible to be chosen for the Kid's Cash Grab. The Giveaway sign-up is located in Guest Services. Winners of the RC Car & kids selected for the Cash Grab will be contacted via phone!

Kids Bingo- Kids 12 and under can participate in Kid's Bingo and potentially win some cool prizes! Check out the event guide for the time and location.

Kids Choice Award- Kids can cast a vote for their favorite car within Building T and the owner of the car will get an award!

For decades, buying a ticket to a car show at Carlisle meant arriving the day of, pulling out your wallet and paying cash at the gate. A $5 off discount will be applied for active, reserve or retired military members who purchase a single day spectator admission ticket in person at the Fairgrounds. The $5 off savings is offered for service members who show a valid military ID when purchasing and is for only the ID holder and their single day admission. This discount is available for in person purchase only to any Carlisle Events hosted show during the current season.

Help those in need at most events this season.  Give generously to members of local Lions Clubs as they staff our gates (varies by event) and accept donations for their Lions Vision Initiative program.  They'll also be at the Carlisle Truck Nationals in August with their custom wrapped big rig, again accepting donations as well as offering free vision screening for guests age 12 and under.  The screenings can help identify any markers or abnormalities that may prompt a parent to further the results to an optometrist. 

Look for Lions in a yellow vest with a black donation tin in hand.  Last year, with your support, $7,000 was raised and donated for Lions International Disaster Relief Efforts.  This year, your support benefits their vision initiative.  Can’t donate in person?  Learn more about the Lions program online by way of the links below.

Carlisle Events takes pride in the partners we work with and we’re excited to partner with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley again in 2024.

This year Ronald McDonald House Central Valley is raffling a 2024 Corvette Stingray, a 1962 Corvette, a beautifully restored 1970 Chevelle SS, and even a Hawaii Getaway Package. Proceeds from their fundraiser will go towards providing a “Home Away From Home” for families while their children are being treated in a local hospital. Each room at the Central Valley Ronald McDonald House has two queen size beds, private restroom and satellite TV. Guests share common areas such as kitchens, laundry rooms, and other common living areas. Some families stay for a few days, while others stay for weeks or even months, depending on the severity of their child’s illness.

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?” 

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!

1. BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
2. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
3. SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
4. REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
5. COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
6. ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
7. NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
8. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
9. LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
10. USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
11. STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day. Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
12. BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
13. BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
14. HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
15. FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride. 
16. ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
17. KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
18. AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
19. WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
20. ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for.  It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare. 

*While parts hauling and taxi service are free, donations are graciously accepted.  Donated money goes directly to the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation. 

 

Did you find your name on this year's winners list? If so, you are invited to participate in the Awards Presentation in front of the stage on Sunday. The first step is to go to Guest Services starting at 9AM on Sunday to pick up your award. Those that win and wish to participate in the Awards Presentation will parade their car in front of the Grandstand to be announced and to get photos.

Professional photography is available at the Awards Presentation and pictures are available for purchase under the Grandstand. Please refer to the Event Guide for the official time (published two weeks prior to the event).

If you cannot attend the presentation, your award can be picked up Sunday between 9AM-12PM at Guest Services. After the show you may pick up your award during regular business hours at the fairgrounds, request to have your award shipped for a fee, or pick it up at any Carlisle Events Show up until one year after the event.

Carlisle Events hasn’t forgotten that sometimes it’s nice to take a break from automotive shopping. Join our amazing vendors and artisans selling items such as handmade crafts, jewelry and accessories, kitchen must-haves, unique clothing, treats to temp you, scents to relax you, beauty products and so much more! Done shopping? The tent is also home to some incredibly, and often tasty, seminars and special services offered by the vendors. A non-denominational worship service is held at 9:00AM Sunday morning. We welcome you to join us for the service led by the Salvation Army and our partners-in-faith. Coffee and donuts available. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! We hope to see you there. Refer to the Event Guide for the location (published two weeks prior to the event).

Enjoy the final moments and aspects of what surely was an amazing event weekend.  Gates open at 7AM to start shopping for last minute deals from remaining vendors. 

Sunday at Carlisle offers FREE parking in any Carlisle operated parking lot. Additionally, if you had purchased an event ticket from a prior day, bring it back in on Sunday and get in for FREE (or pay regular admission without an event ticket from prior day)!
