The holiday season is best recognized as a season of giving, and while that season is primarily in the rear-view mirror for the next 300+ days, the time to give and do good for others continues. Carlisle Auctions, a Pennsylvania-based classic and collector auction house, returns to Lakeland, Florida for its first auction of the year and in doing so, will sell a stunning vehicle benefitting a worthy cause.
The aforementioned auction powered by Carlisle Auctions revs up the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus in Lakeland on February 10-11 and in doing so, brings an expected 400+ classic and collector cars spanning generations to central Florida. The fun starts each day at 10:30 a.m. with past, present, and future classics crossing the block, including a “gotta have it” 1992 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign. The one-owner only Jag with new tires is a confirmed charity consignment and will sell at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11. The charity sale will be the first vehicle to cross the block on day two of the two-day offering and 100% of its dollars will benefit Wheels from the Heart. Better yet, there are no buyer’s or seller’s fees attached to the final gavel price.
Before the fast-paced nature of the auction hits its stride on the 11th, team members yield the floor to Steve Muschlitz and Wheels from the Heart. Wheels from the Heart is a Delray Beach, Florida-based organization whose mission is to give the gift of a reliable vehicle to single moms with children and help them drive to a better life. While there’s an obvious play on words there, the fact remains that owning a reliable means of transportation makes nearly every aspect of life better. It helps you get groceries, go to and from work, do social activities, school drop-offs and pickups, and more. Since being nominated in 2016 for the Men with Caring Hearts Award, Steve and his team have donated hundreds of cars to moms in need.
“I’m excited to work with Carlisle Auctions at their upcoming event in Lakeland,” said Muschlitz. They put on a great event and their bidder/buyer base has always been generous when we offer a lot for charity. Of course, these sales wouldn’t be possible without their gracious donations of them in the first place by their previous owners. Together, we can all change the lives of someone in need.”
“Wheels From the Heart has provided 158 reliable vehicles for hard-working single moms,” noted Tony Cline, Director of Auction Operations. “Their group truly helps drive a better life for them and their family and we are thrilled to be able to help them with their mission. This is our second time working with Wheels from the Heart and we’re looking forward to helping make a difference in the lives of those who depend on the organization.”
Complete details on the auction are available at CarlisleAuctions.com. In addition, the auction offers THREE great ways to bid on desired lots; in person, on the phone, or online! Best of all, once registered as a bidder, online bidding commences the Monday of the auction week (February 6). Consignments are being added daily to the Carlisle Auctions web page. Corvettes at Carlisle is the biggest and best all-Corvette-themed car show in the world. Not only does it draw 5,000+ Corvettes to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, but it also hosts nearly 60,000 spectators. Cars, car owners, vendors, and spectators alike converge on central PA because they not only love the cars but the camaraderie too. There are many displays and guests each August, none showcase more Corvette excellence than the NCRS Gallery.
This summer, August 24-26 to be exact, the NCRS Gallery returns for its 22nd iteration of top-notch Corvettes. The gallery’s purpose is to present an ever-changing gallery of Corvettes and one that is accessible to not just the NCRS members and car owners, but to non-NCRS members too. In fact, the collection historically contains select Corvettes that have won some of the most prestigious awards available. This includes Duntov Mark of Excellence Award® winners, McLellan Mark of Excellence Award® winners, NCRS-Chevrolet Bowtie Award® recipients for Preservation Excellence, American Heritage Award® recipients, and Sportsman Award® Corvettes.
It's easy to find the display tent too, as it’s not far from the grandstand or Gate 3, the main entry gate. In fact, adjacent to Building R on the east side of the grounds is where this exclusive gathering of Corvettes will be. While the NCRS itself picks its cars, there is still time to become an NCRS member for future consideration. Visit NCRS.org for details on how to become a member, review their annual events schedule, and more.
Gates open at 7 a.m. each day and kids 12 and under are admitted FREE. Complete details about the 2023 Corvettes at Carlisle car show, including information on how to become a vendor within the automotive flea market, register for the Fun Field, apply for display consideration, or simply purchase discounted spectator admission tickets can be found at CarlisleEvents.com or by calling 717-243-7855.

Joe Dirt loved his Mopars and so do the thousands of guests and event participants of the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. After topping the 3,000 show car mark for the first time ever in 2022, event plans for 2023 aim to do the same, all while showcasing a little nostalgia and passion along the way. This year’s event, July 14-16 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, welcomes 50 Years of 1973 Mopars, High School Mopars, and a Malaise Era showcase.
Each display’s application process is currently open and will be through at least the first quarter of 2023. The displays, each unique in their own way, will turn heads both on the Showfield and within the display buildings. One such display, High School Mopars, is the brainchild of the biggest Carlisle kid of them all, enthusiast Steve Leber. Leber’s love for Mopars dates back longer than he can remember and recently, he shared this idea with event manager Ed Buczeskie. Ed loved the idea and ran with it, devising a display that aims to host THE car its owner drove in school.
Along with the rides from the old high school parking lot comes a display from the proverbial “old school” itself. We are now 50 years removed from 1973 and that means the 2023 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals bring a half-century of awesome to the event for all to enjoy. This showcase is designed for all ‘73s, stock or modified, and once populated with the best of the best from the application pool, will tell an amazing story of the cars, their owners, and their combined history together. Cars can be original, restored, modified, etc. but as always, a good story goes a long way.
Another display will include a gathering of nostalgic race cars highlighting at least three of the late Roger Lindamood’s “Color Me Gone” cars. One is a fresh restoration that will make its big debut at Carlisle, and another is coming directly from the now closed Chrysler Museum collection.
Attendees of last year’s show were treated to a first-ever display of Mopar collectibles that included things like the Shutdown! racing game, driving simulator, Sno Runner, a boat, a Chrysler chainsaw and even a Mopar hacksaw blade plus so much more. It was super popular and will make a return appearance!
Finally, the Malaise Era feature offers a look back and select rides from the mid-70s through the mid-80s (and maybe a little beyond). Such rides as the Volare/Aspen, Magnum, Cordoba, Mirada, and more will be selected for the display. On a nostalgia scale of 1-10, this should be at least a 10, if not higher. After all, when was the last time you saw multiples of the aforementioned vehicles together in one place? The best part is, there isn’t a black and white want or need for this display, and it’s being kept vague on purpose. According to Ed B., “I’ll know it when I see it.”
Make sure you see it too, plus all the other great featured cars as well as those on the Showfield. The vendor base is also stronger than ever, with an always-at-capacity Mopar flea market, offering some of the most sought-after parts within the hobby.
The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is actively taking display consideration submissions online through the Carlisle Events/Carlisle Chrysler Nationals web page. The submission process is ongoing into at least the first quarter of 2023. It’s FREE to apply for consideration and if accepted, it’ll be FREE to be part of the display, too. Don’t have something that fits the bill for these displays, but own a car or truck that that you’d like to show off? Showfield registration is open now. Full details on the event, links to purchase tickets, and more are available at CarlisleEvents.com or by calling 717-243-7855 today.

The car shows at Carlisle draw hundreds of thousands of guests from around the world annually and each have their own personality. With that in mind, there is no one show during the events season that’s more unique and diverse than the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals. For the 2023 offering, May 12-13 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, showgoers can enjoy features that spotlight some of the top rides from two amazing European automakers and one Japanese: Audi, Rolls Royce, and Honda.
For two days in May, guests can peruse Buildings T and Y and check out an amazing feature that highlights the Audi and Rolls Royce. The Audi display in Building T is supported by The Audi Club, a loose-fitting chapter of Audi Club North America. With their help, this display brings some of the best Audis to Carlisle for the display and for the Showfield. Featured cars don’t have to be owned by an Audi Club member, instead, it’s an invitational/submit for consideration process. There is no “one kind of Audi” on the menu, rather a wide range will be handpicked from the applications to show off. This may include some old variations of the Auto Union and DKW, as well as more modern ones, too. If you’re an Audi fan, this display is a can’t-miss and as always, the feature will likely include a car or two that guests have never seen before.
But wait…there’s more. In addition to rare and unique Audis in Building T, the Rolls Royce Foundation from nearby Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania is bringing a gallery of cars to Building Y. Not only will the foundation bring a dozen or so high-end Rolls, but they’ll also transform the building, too. Bring your Grey Poupon as you check out one-off builds, Hollywood movie cars, some of the oldest and rarest models, and more!
In addition to these two displays, guests can also check out a nod to 50 years of the Civic. This iconic model started out as an economical mode of transportation that eventually evolved into the car of choice for today’s hot rodders. It’s a car with extremely broad appeal and functionality that ranges from the most basic grocery-getter sedan to a hot hatch to an all-out race car. If there’s one car that’s the epitome of the modern car scene, it’s arguably the Civic and we’ll have highlighted examples in Building T and more than 100 expected on the Showfield.
This diverse event features race-prepared rides, a general spotlight of cars from around the world, competitions, track activities, drive-through judging, and more.
