When the sun rises on Friday, January 15, 2022 it will have been 727 days since Auto Mania last took place within the Agri-Plex building at the Allentown Fairgrounds. The wait…is almost over! Carlisle Events is excited to return to Allentown for 33rd offering Auto Mania, Pennsylvania’s largest indoor and heated automotive flea market for three days, January 15-17.
Auto Mania takes place within a singular building and adjacent parking lot of the Farmers Market complex and thousands of enthusiasts travel from regional towns and cities to buy, sell, and trade anything automotive and more. The over 200 vending spaces indoors and out make an otherwise cold weekend in Lehigh County an automotive hot spot. In addition to an all-automotive sales floor, attendees have an opportunity to snag a collector car via the car corral. This forum allows for owner and seller to deal directly with one another in a no pressure, no haggle environment.
Cars are for sale as noted within the car corral and outdoor swap area, but there can be a few within the inside vending spaces too. Auto Mania isn’t a car show, rather it’s a parts buying buffet of nearly everything imaginable for all makes, models, brands and more. The laid-back nature of Auto Mania affords deals that just can’t happen online or by way of social media. Given the all-weather nature of Auto Mania, vendors sign up to bring the car or parts knowing as much. The thrill of the hunt is a big draw too, between the variety of cars, parts, vintage advertising, merchandise, collectibles, and practical items available, there really is something for everyone.
At its peak, Auto Mania continues the tradition of selling out its vending space allotments and will once again offer items suited for any type of restoration project. Back in 2022, Auto Mania will also have wine tasting from local vintner; Boyd’s Cardinal Hollow Winery. Boyd’s, from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, has been recognized in Napa Valley wine circles for its unique Jalapeno Wine. It and others will be available for “of age” attendees.
Finally, the best part of the show is the ease and convenience of finding it. The Allentown Fairgrounds are less than two hours from New York City, Philadelphia and Scranton with major roads like I-78, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Route 22 all nearby. In addition, because of its location on the fairgrounds property, ample FREE parking is available.
Don’t just sit around waiting for springtime and car show season, beat the winter blues with Auto Mania and experience a mix of food vendors, plus those selling car and automotive themed items. There’s even a neighboring Farmer’s Market on Friday for day 1 attendees. The doors open at 12 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Complete details can be found at www.CarlisleEvents.com or by calling 717-243-7855. Spectator tickets are just $10 (kids 12 and under are free) and must be purchased at the door during the event. In addition, interested vendors who wish to be part of the event should connect with Carlisle Events via the aforementioned phone number.

Carlisle Auctions and Lakeland Florida have gone hand in hand for nearly 10 years and for two days, November 11-12, 2021, the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus once again came to life with the sights and sounds of classic and collector cars. In addition to the cars, the people enjoyed the excitement of the Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction. In fact, more than 50% of the 400 or so lots sold, tallying just over $3 million in sales. This final auction of the year caps a stellar season for Carlisle Auctions, who amassed around $19 million in total sales spanning four events and on average, sold about 65% of all lots.
Decades of classic and collector cars were represented in and around the auction arena for days leading up to the auction, with a preview day taking place on November 10. Once the fun started, it went until sun down each day and included an all-truck hour on November 11 AND a special charity sale of a World War II era Jeep where proceeds benefitted the Rescue 22 Foundation. Trucks are just as popular in Florida as they are in Pennsylvania and with the holiday season right around the corner, bidders were in the giving mood, helping net over $30,000 for the Jeep and Rescue 22.
Speaking of top sellers, the top 3, plus the Jeep sale for Rescue 22 tallied over $210,000. The top 3 are as follows:
Along with this trio of top dollar cars, there are many that are STILL FOR SALE. "On behalf of the entire Carlisle Auctions team, thank you to everyone that helped to make our Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction a roaring success,” noted Director of Auction Operations Tony Cline. “The market remains strong and we look forward to carrying this momentum into 2022 with you as part of our Lakeland Winter Collector Car Auction, February 25-26,” continued Cline. “We are currently accepting consignments for that event."
As Cline mentioned Carlisle Auctions returns to the SUN n’ FUN Expo Campus, February 25-26, 2022. Consignments are actively being processed as are requests for bidder registration. Florida is a destination location and with its year-round sunshine and countless entertainment options, it’s easy to see why so many visit the Sunshine State. Carlisle Auctions, a Carlisle, Pennsylvania based company, offers central Florida residents yet another reason to get out and enjoy themselves next month with its two-day classic and collector car auction. The Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction returns to the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus November 12-13 and offers an anticipated 400+ lots spanning automotive history; some even selling for a charitable cause.
With easy access just off the Polk Parkway, I-4 and County Line Rd., the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus has been home to Carlisle Auctions multiple times a year dating back to 2015. This time around, and just in time for the holiday season, bidders and buyers alike can enjoy muscle cars, antiques, daily drivers, best of show gems, trucks and so much more. Though the cars and trucks are great to look at, this isn’t a car show…it’s a car go, and go they will, with each vehicle eligible for purchase by the highest bidder.
Starting at 10:30 a.m. daily, the auction excitement is as good, if not better than those showcased on cable TV. November 12 will feature an all-truck hour starting at 1:30 p.m., meaning those who are into the truck lifestyle can watch for 60 minutes straight, truck after truck cross the block. Jeeps will also be part of this hour and with the popularity of Jeeps in Polk County and Florida as a whole, may offer a hopeful Jeep owner a chance to pick up a new ride at an affordable price.
Speaking of pricing, with the cost of new and used cars up 27% and a projected delay in new car inventory through 2023, the auction is THE BEST way to find something pre-owned at an affordable price point. Lots will range from four-figures to six and each will be an investment that truly accelerates. Inventory will also span nearly 100 years of production.
All-new for the Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction, Carlisle Auctions is pleased to announce a partnership with the Rescue 22 Foundation. Rescue 22 is a non-profit with its training facilities based in Naples, whose mission is to pair highly trained service dogs with combat veterans. The aforementioned partnership will see a WWII era 1944 (titled as a 1957) Willys Jeep cross the block with 100% of the funds raised benefitting Rescue 22. Rescue 22 will also have an onsite presence, showcasing their cause, and hosting combat veterans, service dogs, and more.
“We are excited to return to central Florida and this amazing facility for our Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction,” noted Director of Auction Operations Tony Cline. “We’ve had a Florida presence for nearly 10 years and while Lakeland in February has been a main-stay on our auction schedule, it’s been a few years since we hosted a November auction,” continued Cline. “We’ve had record-breaking results throughout 2021 and it all started this past February at this very same location. We are confident that the buyers, sellers, and spectators who join us November 12-13 will be entertained and more so, happy with their results!”

2021 has been an amazing season for Carlisle Events, with record-breaking turnouts as part of a handful of events spanning April through August. In addition, auction events saw a tremendous return as well, with high sell-through rates and top dollar sales. Spanning five days, September 29-October 3, guests not only bought and sold automotive focused items within automotive flea market, they spent time finding the rare and unique by way of Anymotive vending. In addition, Fall Carlisle presented by eBay Motors, offered cars for sale by way of the car corral on grounds and even more car sales at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center as part of the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction. Combined, the enthusiasm and engagement served as a fitting way to wrap up the 2021 events season in Carlisle!
While each aspect of the event draws a crowd, nothing does better for an event weekend than cooperation from Mother Nature. With sunny skies and comfortable temperatures each day, crowds of enthusiasts flocked to Carlisle to do what they do best - buy, sell, and trade all things automotive. Set-up day came and went without a glitch and when the gates opened on Thursday (September 30), Fall Carlisle was off and running. The race to the finish line of the event came too, but not before some special displays by way of the AACA Car Club, an autograph session by author Jimmy Rosen, and even a memorabilia auction courtesy of Carlisle Events co-owner Bill Miller.
Speaking of the Bill Miller auction, guests had the chance to bid and buy on items from his personal collection. Items spanned decades, dating back to the 1930s and were a big hit with those who took the time to mix and mingle at the grandstand stage on Friday, October 1. This auction was just one of many fun elements of Fall Carlisle. In fact, there was so much automotive fun abound that the action (and auction) spread to the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center. Auction cars were available for preview and then for sale as part of the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction (September 30-October 1). Overall, the auction managed a 70% sell through rate and tallied $5.7 million in sales. Of that, over $10,000 went to charity, including the Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue and Rescue 22. Miller’s auction of items even saw his 1985 Plymouth Horizon sell for just under $7,000.
Though Fall Carlisle has concluded the Pennsylvania based automotive fun for Carlisle Events, the Carlisle Auctions team still has one auction remaining: November 12-13 in Lakeland Florida. Otherwise, plans are underway for Carlisle Events 2022 season, its 49th as the world’s preeminent car show promoter. The fun starts in January with a pair of events, Auto Mania at the Allentown Fairgrounds (January 14-16) followed by the all-new Winter Carlisle Auto Expo at the Carlisle Expo Center (January 28-29). Complete details about all auctions are available at CarlisleAuctions.com and details on the 2022 car show and automotive flea market season are available at CarlisleEvents.com. By the way, Fall Carlisle 2022 will be here before you know it. Save the dates, the event returns to the fairgrounds September 28-October 2. Visit the web or call 717-243-7855 to learn more.
