Quaker Steak & Lube Named Stage Sponsor for Bloomsburg Nationals in 2012

Pennsylvania-based Company to also Host Kickoff Party

Come one, come all to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds for the first-ever Bloomsburg Nationals powered by Carlisle Events (August 10-12) and enjoy live music, great food and a Thursday evening kickoff party. As part of the weekend festivities in Columbia County, Carlisle Events has inked a partnership with Quaker Steak & Lube, an automotive-themed restaurant headquartered in Sharon, Pennsylvania. In additional to being Pennsylvania-based, Quaker Steak & Lube has 40+ locations in North America, including one in Canada. "The Lube," as it's casually known, will have a hand in multiple aspects of the weekend and serve as the hub of afterhours fun and excitement.

Beginning Thursday, August 9, Quaker Steak & Lube, located just off exit 232 of Interstate 80, will host a kickoff party from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The festivities will include food specials, cruise-in car show, live music and a radio remote broadcast from Y 106.5 FM. In addition, attendees of the kickoff party will be able to register their vehicle for the event onsite or purchase day passes for Bloomsburg weekend.

Quaker Steak & Lube will also have a hand in the on-grounds activities at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds by sponsoring the band shell stage and supporting a wing-eating contest. The messy wing eating fun will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 3 p.m., while the band shell hosts popular regional act Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods from 3-6pm also on Saturday.

Finally, in conjunction with Quaker Steak & Lube and its sister property, Perkins, Carlisle Events will sell daily and weekend passes to customers at each regional location. This marketing strategy allows the Carlisle Events and Bloomsburg Nationals brands to be seen by thousands of customers daily.

"Quaker Steak & Lube is happy to partner with Carlisle Events as part of the Bloomsburg Nationals car show," noted Marketing Activities Coordinator Felicia Reyes. "The Thursday night activities will be part cruise-in, part charity benefit and all fun. Not only can attendees pre-register for the car show itself from noon to 9 p.m., there will also be a bikini car wash with proceeds benefiting local flood relief efforts. In addition, we'll feature live music, food and drink specials, raffles and more," added Reyes. "The kickoff party and the car show, with live music on the Quaker Steak & Lube band shell, will make the second weekend of August in Bloomsburg a hot spot destination. We can't wait to see everyone live it, love it and lube it motor head style with ‘The Lube’ and Carlisle Events."

Enthusiasts coming to Bloomsburg will experience an event similar to those produced at America's Automotive Hometown, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The weekend features cars, trucks and bikes of all makes, models, style and era. In addition, the weekend showcases live music, special displays, a Fun Field with awards, great food, crafts and family excitement. Daily tickets are $8 for an adult, with children 8 and under admitted free. A three-day pass saves more than full day off admission, running just $15.
