For more than 35 years, Carlisle Events has been a staple in the automotive
community. Our passion is legendary to those who have made Carlisle,
PA their “Automotive Hometown.” We host 10 seasonal automotive
events at the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds which attract enthusiasts
from all over the world.
2009 Season Review
2009 was another great year here at the Carlisle
PA Fairgrounds. We are truly appreciative of all of our guests
and vendors for choosing to spend their time with us.
Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet,
Corral and Auction
The Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate-81, the two main tributaries
to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, were backed up for over seven
miles at one point during Spring
Carlisle. The roadways were jam-packed with collector, classic
and custom car and truck enthusiasts eager to attend the legendary
swap meet, car corral and collector car auction to enjoy over
8,100 vending spaces that were full to capacity with parts, accessories
and memorabilia including more than 1,800 vehicles of all makes,
models and prices for sale in the car corral.
Carlisle Performance and Style
Carlisle
Performance and Style Carlisle Performance and Style was an
event that lived up to its billing as the “hottest, loudest, most
tricked-out” event for custom car enthusiasts on the East Coast.
The P&S Showfield was filled with 1,500 cars, trucks, SUVs and
everything in between.
Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals
The Carlisle
Import/Kit-Replicar Nationals showcased and celebrated a wide
variety of vehicles; everything from European classics to Japanese
sports cars were displayed, judged and raced on the on-site autocross
track. This year’s special guest for the Kit-Replicar event was
once again Bruce Meyers, father of the modern day dune buggy.
Carlisle All-Ford Nationals
The Carlisle
All-Ford Nationals was once again the largest All-Ford event
in the world, demonstrating the strength and passion of Blue Oval
enthusiasts. Special features and displays for this year’s event
included the first Carlisle Ford GT Supercar reunion, a display
celebrating 45 years of Mustangs, a Montego GT reunion and a 1959
Anniversary celebration with a focus on the retractable Skyliners.
Support and presence at the All-Ford Nationals from Ford Motor
Company was increased this year with the hosting of the Ford Family
Reunion.
Carlisle All-GM Nationals
The Carlisle
All-GM Nationals once again celebrated the history and future
of vehicles produced by General Motors. Enthusiasts came in droves
to celebrate the release of and to test-drive the new Camaro,
to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the El Camino and to meet
the All-GM Nationals special guests Sam Memmolo and Bryan Fuller,
from the hit TV show Two Guys Garage.
Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals
The Carlisle
All-Chrysler Nationals was once again a true Mopar-lover’s
paradise with attendees converging on the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds
from all over the world. Over 2,300 vehicles, representing all
eras and models of the Chrysler brand, from classic to muscle
and everything in between were on display. Mopar fans made the
pilgrimage to Carlisle to meet the biggest name in Mopar drag
racing, “Big Daddy” Don Garlits at the MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust
display with huge lines throughout the weekend.
Carlisle Bike Fest
Carlisle
Bike Fest was once again an event for riders of V-twins, metrics,
sport bikes, choppers, custom cruisers, and fighters - both import
and domestic - and everything in between. Bike Fest hosted more
top names in the motorcycle industry than ever before. Kawasaki,
Suzuki and Yamaha offered on-site demos of their latest models.
Joining the industry displays and test rides was an incredible
list of talented builders and awesome special guests.
Carlisle All-Truck Nationals
The 2009 Carlisle
All-Truck Nationals trucked to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds with great weather, lots of activities and over 1,500 trucks on the fun field, from all aspects of the truck world. Monster truck shows and rides were joined by Megasaurus – a fire-breathing, car eating transformer for shows all weekend long. Special guests for this year’s Carlisle Big Rig Show N’ Shine was Outcast Kustoms from TV’s Trick My Truck on CMT.

Corvettes
at Carlisle, once again the world’s largest and most prestigious
event celebrating America’s sports car, raced back to the Carlisle
PA Fairgrounds for a twenty-seventh year. Despite scattered showers
and thunderstorms both Friday and Saturday, smiles that reflected
the sun that would come on Sunday were plentiful. Special guest
Mario Andretti – presented by MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust –
brought excitement to fans who lined up to meet the racing icon.
Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet,
Corral and Auction
Post War ’74 was the first automotive event held at the Carlisle
PA Fairgrounds in 1974. 35 years later, with twelve events and
auctions throughout the year, the re-named Fall
Carlisle was once again the staple and peak of our season.
Highlights of Fall Carlisle included the highest selling car in
the five-year history of Carlisle Auctions, GM Futurliner No.
10 on display, The World's Greatest Johnny Cash Tribute Show and
the Sunday Carlisle Cruise-In.
