Carlisle Performance & Style 2009
Lived up to its billing as the “hottest, loudest, most tricked-out” event on the east coast
Monday, May 18, 2009
Carlisle Performance and Style which took place over the weekend of May 9th at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds was an event that lived up to its billing as the “hottest, loudest, most tricked-out” event for custom car enthusiasts on the east coast. As many similar events around the U.S. are either downsizing or closing up shop, Carlisle P&S continues to grow. In its fourth year, the event show field was filled with 1,500 cars, trucks, SUVs and everything in between. Rich Dallas, Carlisle Events Senior Event Manager who organized the event said, “I believe that the reason we continue to see success with P&S is because of the variety of cars and trucks on display. We also have tons of other activities that take place for people to enjoy when they are not looking at all of the awesome cars and trucks.” Dallas continued, “Another reason that I think P&S is such a well-attended event is because it caters to the next generation of car builders. What these guys and girls are doing with affordable current models is creating the next generation’s classics.”
In tune with the other events that take place at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, the cars at the Performance and Style event were the engine driving the excitement at the fairgrounds. With the cars as the engine, the activities like the BMX stunt shows, dB bass drags, a video game tournament and the Carlisle Beauty, loudest and lowest, and burnout competitions acted as the axle pushing the event all weekend long.
Car club participation is also a major component to the vehicle that is the Performance and Style event. Special indoor displays were set up by two local groups WR and F4 Challenge. Both groups are locally headquartered and have been major players in the custom compact hobby for over a decade.
Performance and Style 2010 is sure to build upon the excitement of 2009 with hot, loud and tricked-out excitement: Carlisle P&S 2010 - May 8-9.
